I will drown out with a fart app the next person who uses “the year of mobile” in my presence.

The year of mobile was the first time people slept rough to be first to get a device.

Everything since is people playing catch up or building on that potential.

"Says Christopher Johnson, a linguist and naming expert, “The problem with Google is that it makes us painfully aware of how unoriginal we are. Before web search, two bands could use the same name in happy ignorance as long as they were serving different geographical and stylistic markets."

"Indie rock is such a bratty culture, and I don’t see a lot of ugly people in it, either. I feel very proud to be hideous. Thank God I don’t look like every other fucking dude wearing their girlfriend’s fucking jeans out there on stage. That’s weak and emasculated— and I don’t think masculinity is equivalent to misogyny. It just seems like everything is like a cat that’s been declawed— it still tries to fight with you, but it’s harmless. Nobody wants to get scratched."

"New [app] publishers account for even a smaller percentage of [app] revenue than the actual numbers of new publishers. On the Apple App Store new publishers were 2% of the total but generated less than 0.5% of revenue. On Google Play they were 3% of total publishers but generated less than 1.5% of revenue."

It’s hard to build a breakout brand, regardless of the channel and how much time people spend there discovering new shiny things.

Or

People are prone to be loyal and follow brands across screens. At least first and foremost.
